A milestone for the action of the Global Sustainability Committee since its creation in 2024 was the holding of its third session, in person at the ME Elecmetal headquarters in Santiago de Chile, in July 2025.
The challenge on that occasion was to agree on measures that would allow continuing with the growth guidelines, but always increasing environmental, social, and economic value—towards 2030 and seeking a complete transformation by 2050.
At the environmental level, this means reducing the environmental footprint while maintaining high global competitiveness. Advancing in this way is the result for the company of the conviction to fully integrate sustainability into its corporate strategy: in production, internal culture, and in the relationship and communication with its stakeholders, passing on to its end customers all the achieved attributes.
Facing the current challenge
With this in mind, ME Elecmetal has begun implementing a set of strategic and operational initiatives aimed at fulfilling its objective:
- Clear environmental sustainability goals, with a specific roadmap
- Development of an impact materiality, through the identification of the most relevant issues for the company from a dual perspective; from the impacts that stakeholders may exert on ME Elecmetal, and those the company exerts on them, in the different regions where it operates.
- Annual Integrated Report with a more executive version of sustainability performance: a comprehensive and transparent view for investors, regulators, customers, value chain, and communities.
- Specific Talent Program to 2030 to support this transformation.
- A Circular Business Model, which integrates all practices for reducing environmental footprint and aims for full circularity by 2050

Expected benefits
To support the challenge, the ESG governance and execution model based on evidence, positive impact, and communication continues to operate, where the expected benefits include:
- Projecting environmental objectives, transferring greater value to the end customer.
- Strengthening organizational culture by attracting, developing, and retaining key talent.
- Aligning sustainability performance with stakeholder priorities.
- Making the operation fully consistent with the issues that mostly interest the company to challenge sustainable growth to 2030 and deeply coherent with its capacity to be reported.
