Internships at ME Elecmetal: Stories that Build the Future

At ME Elecmetal South America, nearly 39 young people are experiencing a journey that combines professional discovery, continuous learning, and close support. From areas as diverse as Grinding Media, People Management, Technical Department, Administration and Finance, Quality Service Center, Operations, Commercial and Quality, each intern is taking their first steps in a work environment that challenges and empowers them. One of the most significant milestones was the celebration of “Intern Day,” an occasion where they shared experiences, learnings, and challenges alongside their mentors. The atmosphere of mutual growth was reflected in their own stories.

Who are they and what is their role?

For Ornella Ferrufino, joining ME Digital in the Commercial Management meant opening the door to a completely new universe. “Today I support with laser scanning, prepare manuals, and contribute to team proposals,” she says enthusiastically.
In People Management, Israel Becerra experiences a dynamic pace, marked by daily contact with candidates and internal teams. “My job is to support the entire process, from candidate search, job posting, to conducting interviews. Everything is a learning experience,” he highlights.
In Grinding Media, Isidora Salgado contributes from the laboratory, ensuring technical precision in every task: “Programming cuts on the EDM machine and supporting technical procedures for material analysis,” she says, satisfied with her contribution.

What attracted them to ME Elecmetal?

Each path is different, but they all converge on a genuine motivation to learn. Ornella was looking for a challenge that differed from the traditional mining technician profile, and ME Digital was that space: “This is a different route from the traditional mining technician path and that is very motivating,” she affirms.
Israel came through a recommendation from an acquaintance who valued the company’s work environment. After an initial conversation, he confirmed that impression: “After an interview, I saw that it really was like that and it was very motivating.”
Isidora, meanwhile, heard from colleagues that the experience was enriching and flexible: “I came because of positive references from colleagues and an announcement whose training focus made sense to me,” she recalls.

How do they describe the internal culture?

Despite their different areas, Isidora, Ornella, and Israel agree on something essential: the work environment makes the difference.
“What I highlight about the company is that there is a respectful and collaborative environment, where you are welcomed and helped,” Ornella says.
Israel agrees and adds a human touch: he is in “a team that feels like a family: active listening, support, and space to grow both technically and personally.”
Isidora points out an aspect not common in all organizations: “I see a healthy and flexible environment, with trust and a genuine willingness to teach, something not found in every company,” she reflects.

What benefits do they value most?

Learning opportunities hold a special place for each of the interns. Ornella highlights having had access to areas she didn’t encounter in her studies, such as metrology or advanced technologies, opening a new specialization for her.
Israel deeply values the contact with diverse people, an experience that has strengthened both his technical skills and soft skills.
Isidora appreciates having broadened her perspective beyond academics: practical knowledge, applied methodologies, and an environment that promotes continuous learning.

What anecdotes or experiences left a mark on them?

Between daily work and new challenges, Intern Day stood out as a milestone. Ornella remembers it with special pride: she won third place in an innovation challenge with her team. “It reinforced my leadership and confidence when presenting,” she recounts. For Israel, it was an exceptional opportunity to connect with people from different areas and ages, an experience that strengthened his ability to relate.
Isidora vividly recalls her first day: an intense technical induction combined with a colleague’s birthday celebration. That gesture, she says, revealed from the first minute the good team atmosphere.

How do they feel they contribute to the challenges of the mining industry?

Although each works in different areas, they all agree on one thing: their daily tasks are not isolated details but aligned pieces that move with ME Elecmetal’s objective.

Ornella experiences this from the ME Digital area, where every manual, scan, or proposal becomes a concrete improvement for her team. “I am helping to organize processes, standardize them, and create tools that facilitate the department’s work,” she explains, aware that her contribution impacts far beyond her screen.

Israel, in People Management, feels that impact from the first interview he conducts. For him, every filled vacancy is an opportunity to strengthen the culture and ensure teams prepared for the business’s major challenges. “My role is key to bringing in the right people,” he states, understanding that talent is one of the engines that keeps the industry moving forward.

Isidora, from the Grinding Media laboratory, makes a more technical but equally decisive contribution. Programming cuts and supporting specialized analyses allow her teams to make decisions with precision. “My work helps the technical process advance more efficiently,” she comments, knowing that these small details are essential to innovate and continuously improve for our clients.

What excites them about the future?

For these three young people, the future is not an intention: it is a path that has already begun.
Ornella looks beyond the present. She wants to continue studying, make the leap to civil engineering, and specialize with everything she is learning today at ME Digital. Her goal is not just to grow: it is to become a professional who transforms processes and opens paths for others.

Israel, on the other hand, found the area he likes: People Management. He envisions himself driving talent, connecting the right people with the right challenges, and making each team function better. For him, the future is clear: build culture, help bring in new talent, and sustain the human heart of an industry that never stops.

Isidora follows the impulse of curiosity. She wants to learn more, deepen her technical knowledge, and share what she has experienced because she understands that knowledge also multiplies when taught. Her path is to advance with precision but without losing meaning: every cut, every analysis, every improvement brings her closer to a fuller version of herself as a professional.

And what does ME Elecmetal have to do with all this? A lot. It is the starting point and the runway. It is a place where interns don’t just “observe,” they participate; where the future is not only talked about, it is built. Here, technology, support, and real learning combine, with mentors who trust and teams that open doors.

If you are excited to grow professionally, learn, and see how your work becomes impact, it is worth getting to know ME Elecmetal. Perhaps your story—like Ornella’s, Israel’s, or Isidora’s—also begins here.
