Beyond our Talents: Jacqueline González, Head of Development and Innovation, ME Elecmetal South America — A Story of Resilience and Innovation

Originally from Santiago, Chile, Jacqueline or Jackie—as her friends call her—began her academic training at the Pontificia Universidad Católica, studying humanities in her undergraduate years. It was in the economics courses where she discovered her affinity for the commercial world, and the clarity that drives her passion: the intersection between rigorous analysis and purpose-driven management. This revelation led her to graduate as a Commercial Engineer.

From the start of her career, Jacqueline was motivated by the desire to “build things,” imagining herself in fields related to innovation and new business. However, her first professional step was into the world of finance and management control, an experience she describes as: “understanding how organizations work seems key to me, it’s like performing an autopsy on a company.”

Her professional journey took her to Nestlé. There she deepened her financial experience and had her first exposure to marketing and new product development, especially linked to the dairy sector. Later, she joined Cencosud, a decision she made after facing a context that pushed her to reaffirm her ethical convictions in her work environment.

It was during that period that Jacqueline faced the greatest challenge of her life: a medical diagnosis giving her only nine months to live. Far from stopping her, this episode triggered a profound personal and professional reconfiguration. As she recounts, “that situation made me make important adjustments in many areas: I changed partner, family plans, job, and focus.” After a successful operation, which she considers “a kind of miracle,” Jacqueline began living with a renewed purpose more aligned with her true values: meaningful projects.

That is how she came to ME Elecmetal, joining the management control area. From this role, she has been able to combine her technical rigor with her passion for creating and transforming.

ME Elecmetal is a deeply technical company with a strategic vision. Everything can be accomplished. I like contributing with that skill, as well as team building.

Jacqueline González

Head of Development and Innovation ME Elecmetal South America

In these 11 years at ME Elecmetal, Jackie has built much more than a career: a platform to drive real change: “What I value most is the healthy environment,” she comments, referring to an organizational culture where people treat each other with respect, leaders are approachable, and there is a spirit of cross-functional collaboration. “Here you can access the leaders, they are approachable and cooperative,” she emphasizes.

Once the management control area was consolidated, Jackie did not stop. Her curiosity led her to deepen her knowledge in innovation, participating in training spaces and leading new initiatives. This path coincided with the proposal to establish the innovation and development management, a space where she integrates the best of her analytical training with her passion for creating and building new things.

About her current experience, she is clear and emphatic: “Few people can get up in the morning feeling motivated. I get up energized, I like coming and being here, I like what I do. Here I know you can propose and build from difference… and that’s not so common.”

Along with the continuous building of brand and culture, Jackie highlights ME Elecmetal as a deeply technical company and also one with a global strategic outlook she admires: “We have presence in places where few bet or have on their radar: Zambia, Kazakhstan, South Africa, in addition to key markets: China, United States, and Peru. This speaks to the bold mindset of the leaders, looking beyond the obvious.”

She also explains that the organization demonstrates a clear and ambitious vision, not only in its global projection but also in its commitment to strengthening internal diversity, highlighting significant progress in incorporating talents from various nationalities, which has enriched the organizational culture: “I have seen more and more women joining the company, and I trust we will continue opening that path.”

Jackie recognizes herself as a professional in constant growth and with purpose. She likes to learn, move, and transform, while also valuing stability. This duality allows her to identify the type of environment that favors her development, as well as that of others: “I recommend working at ME Elecmetal, it is a company that allows you to have a balance between work and personal life, that balance is possible, and it is part of the cultural identity.”
