Can you introduce yourself and your role in the company?

My name is Michael Naughton. I live in Australia and have more than 20 years of experience in the mining industry. Throughout my career, I have worked on various projects related to maintenance, installation, and equipment availability in mining operations across Australia and Southeast Asia.

At ME Elecmetal, I have had the opportunity to grow professionally. I started as an Account Manager, then became Sales Director, and I am currently Product Manager in the Crushing area. This journey has been very rewarding, as it has allowed me to understand the company from different perspectives and continuously take on new challenges.

What attracted you to ME Elecmetal?

I joined the company through a colleague’s recommendation. At that time, I did not know much about ME Elecmetal, but as I researched it, I was drawn to the way it engages with clients and its business approach.

What ultimately convinced me was the opportunity to contribute to the company’s growth in a challenging region like APAC. I saw a clear opportunity to make a difference and to be part of a project with strong potential, both technically and from a human perspective.

How would you describe the culture at ME Elecmetal?

If I had to define it in one word, I would say it is a “fantastic” culture. Unlike other work experiences where teams operated in isolation, here there is genuine collaboration across people and departments.

There is always someone willing to support, regardless of the area or location. This willingness to work together not only creates a positive work environment but also strengthens our ability to respond to our clients. It is a culture that is consistently experienced at a global level.

What benefits do you value most about working here?

One of the aspects I value most is flexibility. I carry out much of my work from home, which has allowed me to balance my professional and personal life, especially as a father of two young children.

In addition, the support from the team and leadership has been key. There is understanding when it comes to personal and professional challenges, and there is always a willingness to help when someone needs it. That trust and support make a big difference in day-to-day work.

Personal anecdotes about teamwork, achievements, or company events

One of the most important milestones in my experience has been to be part of the development of the APAC region. When I joined, we were a small team of four people. Today, we have achieved significant growth in terms of clients, reach, and results.

We went from handling relatively low volumes to much more relevant figures for the business. This growth reflects not only a successful strategy but also the commitment and teamwork of the entire group in a complex and diverse environment.

The culture at ME Elecmetal is fantastic: there is always someone willing to help, regardless of the area or country.

How does your team contribute to solving challenges in the mining industry?

In our region, we face a wide diversity of mining operations, so there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Our main strength lies in our ability to integrate knowledge from different parts of the world.

We work collaboratively with teams from other regions such as Chile and China, sharing learnings, experiences, and best practices. This allows us to deliver more precise and higher-value solutions for our clients, building trust and long-term relationships.

What excites you most about the future of ME Elecmetal?

I am especially excited about developments in areas such as Crushing and digital tools applied to mining. I believe that the use of data will be key to advancing toward more efficient, innovative, and sustainable solutions.

On a personal level, I am motivated to continue contributing to the growth of the APAC region and the entire ME Elecmetal business to see ME Elecmetal consolidate itself as a benchmark in the industry. Being part of that journey, collaborating with teams from different parts of the world, is undoubtedly one of the greatest attractions of working here.
