At ME Elecmetal, we take pride in placing people at the center of our decisions, basing all our actions on solid values such as Respect for the Dignity of People and Integral Human Development. At the same time, our Sustainability Strategy rests on a key pillar for this purpose: Our People, deploying actions and thus contributing to positively impacting the lives of those who are part of our company and building sustainability from our foundation.

In this context, one of the Company's global challenges has been the alignment of management practices and indicators, in order to strengthen our corporate culture as a people-centered company.

In all our operations, across five continents, we work under the fundamental principle of respecting the dignity of each person, recognizing the unique value each employee brings to our organization, highlighting each individual’s history, interests, goals, as well as their context of action. We strive to offer fair working conditions, meaningful benefits, and development opportunities that transcend borders.

Our goal is clear: to build a work environment where all our employees feel valued, safe, and motivated to reach their full potential, regardless of gender, geographic origin, age, or the culture they live daily. At ME Elecmetal, we are proud to be a diverse and multicultural melting pot.

ME South America

At ME Elecmetal, we reaffirm our commitment to the well-being of people and the building of more humane and sustainable relationships. Thus, we develop programs such as:

  • Impulsa: In this program implemented in Chile, people are at the center of our actions, supporting both employees and their families, helping them reach their full potential. The mission is to strengthen the self-esteem, financial, psychological, and emotional well-being of those who make up our community. During 2024, the program’s foundations were strengthened, introducing improvements to involve people from earlier stages. For example, sessions were adjusted to each participant’s available time, allowing more flexible and personalized access, ultimately more effective.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP Latina): a central tool benefiting employees. It includes five modules:
  1. Psychological: Management of distress, social skills, relationship with adolescent children, divorce or separation.
  2. Legal advice: Topics such as divorce, domestic work, nutrition, and family matters.
  3. Financial education: Advice on debt, home purchase, and tax management.
  4. Nutrition: Personalized guidance.
  5. Inclusion and diversity: Support on domestic violence and sexual orientation issues.

Both initiatives are reinforced with ongoing awareness campaigns, enhancing openness to the needs and issues affecting our community.

In the last quarter of 2024, 124 people used the program. The service includes 24/7 telephone support and up to 4 free sessions from home. The program is present both in Chile and Peru, where it continues to be strengthened.

During 2024, we established comprehensive sustainability governance, through which each pillar of the strategy is deployed in a working group that, in the specific case of People, is composed of the Area Managers from each Region. From Sustainability, we act as a bridge, facilitating agreements and progress. In this space, efforts focus on the most urgent issues for the business and the people, and initiatives related to Diversity, Inclusion, and Talent are implemented, in addition to supporting and adding standards of Well-being, as well as Health and Safety for all the people who make up ME Elecmetal.
