We are the world leader in designing and supplying highly engineered grinding mill liners for SAG, AG, ball, tower and rod milling.

ME Elecmetal designs, manufactures and supplies the highest quality forged steel grinding media for SAG, ball and rod mills in the world.

Mining 4.0

Helping our customers to reuse and decompress landfills and/or reduce waste disposal management costs.

Today, customers can pay for another actor in the chain to manage and/or dispose of their waste, or accumulate it in their on-site dumps.

 

Elecmetal’s circular economy area was created in 2022 and has three objectives:

  1. Maximize the recovery of other products.
  2. Implement the polyfit or rubber recovery plant.
  3. Separate scrap (steel balls), components similar in shape to liners, but with a different composition.

Regarding scrap separation, this is a plant that can differentiate between the magnetite (ore) and the ball that is discarded from the milling process. This initiative is in a test phase. The plant was installed in central Chile and is expected to be mobilized to our customers’ mining sites in the short term. It is estimated that the amount of waste to be recirculated could reach 80 thousand tons* per year, which can be sold to steel suppliers.

*Note: the estimates of tons to be recirculated in both cases will depend on the plant configuration and production capacity.
