The customer needs to retire certain components that are part of the mining operation. And their first option is to buy a new one, which implies more expense and taking over the management of the component that was decommissioned.
They buy new equipment, with the monetary costs and sometimes with costs in the operation, since the new components not always fulfill the technical requirements that the client needs.
For years, ME Elecmetal has worked hand in hand with its clients in repair contracts for crushing, grinding, mine and smelting pot components, with the objective of extending the useful life of the equipment.
Therefore, today – and with the objective of formalizing this business – we are seeking to capture the materials that customers have available to give them a new useful life, with the quality and excellence that are characteristic of ME Elecmetal.
It is important to mention that the knowledge of the mining business has a very relevant value in this process: ME Elecmetal’s technicians know very well the requirements that a client may have in the operation, as a result of the bond that has been generated. Therefore, the remanufactured equipment will reach all these specifications without compromising operational continuity, and extending its useful life beyond the five traditional repairs.
“One of the most important variables of this business is the years of experience that we have from ME Elecmetal in relation to a client. Considering this, today we are capturing the materials, to double their useful life from 5 to 10 years” explains Manuel Maurera, Senior Engineer of Circular Economy.
Specifically, the result is that the customer goes from making a maximum of 5 repairs to the equipment, and can go up to 10 repairs, doubling its useful life.
